Spectacular views are you experiencing slow performance for wamp server under windows 7??

i have experienced the same problem and i didn't solve it until i asked the support of wamp server.

So this is the solution,

check you  hosts file and make sure its  only contains:

127.0.0.1 localhost

The site is located under the directory:

c:/windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts

And then the performance of wamp server will back again.

    Hi all,

OK, but the file c:/windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts cannot be modified even with administator rights. Probably a 'system' file.

How is it possible to midify this file ?

hi i have modified it., open it with notepad, it will open and then save it. you may need to restart the system.

you need to disable UAC completely in order to edit the hosts file

Easier way is to open notepad do the edits and save as hosts.txt. Once saved, remove the .txt using rename.
This will alter file permissions and then you can edit file in notepad and just save, which will save as a hosts file.

Oh man, there's an easier way to do that. Just click on Start > Programs > Accessories and then locate Notepad. Right click on notepad and run as administrator. When the notepad opens up, click on FILE and then browse to the HOST file. You wont see the file until you choose VIEW ALL FILES on notepad screen. Once you see host file, open it and then edit it. You wont find any problems saving the file now!
    Cheers!

    Hey..

This is a good one..it seems the author knows the subject well. It is a good site indeed. I've been working on getting my website up and going for a while now. I like how it's looking but I'm really trying to find some of the top seo companies out there to help me get more traffic. I've heard that this is the way to go so I'm really hoping it works. The one thing I'm not sure about is what to look for in top seo companies I've heard so many things that I'm not sure what the real answer is. I checked out www.bergstrom-seo.com but even there I wasn't 100% sure on what I was looking at. I was hoping that you could give me some good pointers and ideas on what really makes these companies the best in the biz.

The file must contain 127.0.0.1 localhost! It may contain another masks too, but 127.0.0.1 localhost must not be commented!

havent looked in a while, when i first got windows7 there were no solutions to be found, I gave up for a while.
googled this again today because it was driving me nuts.
    This solution works!!
Use the run notepad as administrator option, it did not speed up until I restarted.
    Thanks for a easy solution....
